Fitting Notes

Both units are freestanding and neither can be built into a run of cabinetry — each needs air space at the rear and top. Standing next to one another they take up 1,505mm of floor width before you add ventilation gaps, so check you have the wall for it.

They are also not the same height: the fridge freezer stands at 1,905mm and the wine cooler at 1,850mm, so there is a 55mm step between them. The wine cooler's height is measured with its feet, which on most freestanding Smeg appliances are adjustable — worth checking if you want them level.

Allow clear floor in front for the doors; the wine cooler needs 1,177mm with its door open at 90 degrees. Both are heavy, so check your access route, doorways and any turns before delivery day — an American fridge freezer will not go round a tight staircase. Stand the fridge upright for several hours before switching it on.
