Separate The Fridge From The Freezer

A combined fridge freezer splits one cabinet two ways and you live with the compromise. Separate them and both get better: a full-height larder fridge with nothing but fresh food in it, and a freezer that sits where a freezer actually belongs — under a worktop, out of the way.

The IRBbi5150 is 296 litres of fridge with two BioFresh drawers, one tuned for fruit and vegetables and one for meat and dairy, both held just above freezing at controlled humidity. If you shop fresh once a week and watch things wilt by Thursday, this is the appliance that fixes it. At 29dB it is quiet enough for an open-plan room, which very few fridges are.

Worth being clear about: the fridge is fully integrated, so it disappears behind a cabinet door you supply. The FE1404 freezer is a white under-counter appliance with its own visible door — ideal in a utility room or slotted under a worktop run, but it is not an integrated appliance and will not take a furniture door.

Fitting Notes

The fridge needs a full-height integrated housing: niche height 1,772–1,788mm, niche width 560–570mm, niche depth 550mm. The furniture door comes from your kitchen supplier and is not included. Leave the ventilation path Liebherr specify at the plinth and above the cabinet — an integrated fridge that cannot breathe runs hot and costs more to run.

The freezer is 55cm wide and designed to fit under a standard worktop. It needs its own socket and clearance at the back.
